31 weeks...

This week I bought a balance ball (aka yoga ball or birth ball) to sit on at home, and have decided I need one for work, too.  It's one of the few things that makes me comfortable since it takes the pressure off my low back.  I can see it being very beneficial, especially for those long days at the office, after the baby is born too!

I already have another prenatal appointment coming up this week (just had one about a week and a half ago.)  Almost every appointment has been with a different midwife.  They try to ensure that you meet all of the midwives.  I think there are six or so total, some part-timers and/or newbies, and some I've met who have recently left.  The one we met last week, Vickie, has been my favorite so far.  She was a homebirth midwife for a while.  I would love to do a homebirth if my home wasn't so tiny!  Maybe next time.

I've been feeling OK. Tired off and on.  Some aches and pains.  I have been taking advantage of the long holiday weekend to SLEEP!  The opportunity to nap is nice.  I will enjoy maternity leave when E and I can nap together.

We have plans in the next couple days to check out other swimming holes in the area.  Scott isn't much of a swimmer, but he's enthusiastically agreed to accompany me on these adventures.  It's "cooled off" a bit too (meaning it's "only" low 90s), so I don't object to getting a little sun if I can.  It may make me feel better about the way I look!

In exciting news:  my sister Allison bought her flight out from Spain!  She will be here from 8/25 to 9/5!  I can't wait to have her around.  All of us especially can't wait to have E around at the same time. :)

I loved sitting on the birthing ball, crying into the pillow while I rolled around :P haha It helps a lot with the pressures of labor... so I imagine it would be beneficial when you're not in labor as well! Swimming feels so great when you're pregnant. It's such a relief to have the water lift that weight for you a bit.

See you soon!!! I can't wait to share this moment with you... so honored and extremely excited. Having a baby is the best thing that can happen to anyone and I know you see it that way. I am so happy for you guys!! :D

It feels so good to just do hip circles on it. My old chiro had me do those a lot. It must be doing me a lot of good too b/c my pelvis was totally aligned today (chiro) after 2 weeks without an adjustment! woohoo! Those balls are great for sitting on at your computer... its very low impact exercise & you don't even realize you are engaging all the right muscles to strengthen your core, all while just sitting around on the computer!

I'm old so the birthing ball is new to me, so send me a link so I can read about it. I'm so glad they have something new to help relieve that awful stress of the last month. YAY!
I am getting excited now. You are already there!!! Just a couple more weeks and I will see a picture of my new grandbaby and my baby will be counting fingers, toes, inny, outty inspections...etc.

It's just a yoga ball or exercise ball... they call it different names depending on what you use it for, but it's all the same thing.
