An actual update!

...though I'm sure everyone prefers the short and sweet photo updates. ;)

Evie is doing more new things every day. She is coming up on 6 months old! Just two short weeks to go.  She still hasn't eaten any solid food, and while I have it in my head that she will start at 6 months, I think we will follow the baby-led weaning philosophy. We'll see how it goes. :) So far she's only interested in cups/glasses. She tries to grab them and drink out of them.

She is able to sit up unassisted now, though she topples over after a bit, especially when she gets excited. She can roll from belly to back, and does so as soon as we put her on her belly. She's not a big fan of tummy time! But she used to cry and cry, now she just rolls. heh. I just got her a water play mat, so maybe that will convince her to stay on her tummy.

She is VERY vocal, and we often hear actual words, though it's obvious they're not purposeful. I think she will talk pretty early. She's mostly quiet around other people though, studying their every move.  


She's a really happy kiddo, and the fact that she's finally doing regular naps is helping a lot with that I'm sure! The only somewhat major issue we have is that I'm the only one who can get her to bed or soothe her back to sleep at night. This makes it hard when we want to do things and have someone watch her.  I've had to rush home a couple times because daddy just wouldn't do.

I swear she gets cuter every day.  Don't ask me how that's possible!  My love for her grows and grows, and I don't even know how since I already love her a thousand times more than I've loved anything else in my entire life. She makes life so much better/more fun/happier. :)
