27 week update

Although I've pretty much hated pregnancy, there are also parts that I've enjoyed.  Part of my reason for wanting to create this site is so that I can record some memories of such a unique (and brief) period in my life with people that I love.  I know that I will miss it some day.

I'm 27 weeks along today (depending on who you ask.)  Some would say this is the third trimester.  Others wouldn't, but I'm not too concerned about semantics. ;)  Not that I've been pregnant before, but I'd have to say that I definitely feel like I'm in my third trimester.  Heavy, tired, off-balance.  I've even gotten a little morning sickness back on occasion.  Eating (especially eating right) is a job in itself.

E has been moving up a storm!  We now get responses to pokes and tickles.  Such a cool experience for us.  I would say that movement is still concentrated to mostly evening hours.  An evening person, just like us.

I had my latest prenatal checkup on Thursday.  All is well, and my weight gain has finally slowed.  I had to do the glucose testing, which wasn't thrilling, but not as bad as some make it out to be either.  The birthing center has wireless, so I spent my wait time (alone on the waiting room couch -- have I mentioned how much I love the birthing center?) playing on my netbook.  The drink was definitely gross, but since I didn't have to fast beforehand, it didn't make me feel sick.  Just really tired after I crashed from all that sugar.  I haven't heard anything about the results, which is good news.  My next appointment is near the end of June and after that I will be going in every two weeks (already!)

We start our Bradley Method birthing classes this week.  It's eight weeks long.  We're both looking forward to the bonding time plus meeting other parents-to-be that are going to the birthing center as well.  Maybe we'll make some connections. :)

I made a page with all of my pregnancy pictures (check the sidebar), and will include these weekly shots in it as I go.  Scott took this a few hours ago post, post-work nap.  I'm keeping it real. ;) (And looking VERY forward to having tomorrow OFF!)
