36 weeks!

Quickly approaching 37 weeks pregnant!  I am now considered "term" and can birth at the birthing center at any point now.  Whoa.  We still have a few things to do before then!  First off...

We need to figure out how to use the carseat (not to mention clean it and latch it into the car!)  We only took it out of the backseat of Scott's car this weekend, after having it generously gifted to us by my sister Michelle back in April!  Hey, a car is a good spot to keep a carseat.  Especially when you don't have much room!

Did you know that carseats are complicated?  (Probably so.)  I think we're avoiding it.

Toby was only interested in it the day we brought it up to the apartment.  He spent three hours napping in it!  He hasn't (to our knowledge) tried to get into it since!

I did manage to pack E's stuff for birthday into the diaper bag, but Scott and I need to pack our stuff soon.  I'm not too worried about it, being that we'll only be at the birthing center for a few hours (they generally release you to home 8 hours post-birth.)

We definitely need to deep clean our place, maybe even start packing some things away.  We checked out one apartment over the weekend.  The insanely hot weekend!!  It has finally reached the 100s; a number we were used to seeing for about three months straight last summer, well before now.  That first time out was pretty brutal.  My face and skin turned bright red, just from being outside for a few minutes.  I don't think I got any sun AKA color on my skin, but I certainly haven't been trying to this year.  Laying by the pool is not desirable when you are operating as an oven! :)

I have been feeling good!  Pretty dang pregnant.  Sleep isn't easy with several position changes and bathroom trips throughout the night, but I am generally able to go right back to it so that's good.  There have been a lot of contractions and back pains in the past several days, which are huge reminders that it's almost time!  Knowing that seems to make me enjoy my pregnancy more.  I already know that one day I will miss it, as crazy as that seems right now.  I am not hoping for the baby to be out any time before 38 (39, 40) weeks at this point.  The longer they cook, the healthier babies are!  E will almost undoubtedly be here THIS MONTH, and that's more than close enough for me!  I've been wrapping up some projects at work (while simultaneously learning a bunch of new stuff/adjusting) and am enjoying the little human flip-flopping and squirming around inside of me.  I definitely look forward to the coming weeks of no working and just chilling in bed with my baby, but the days are still flying by pretty quickly and I know those will too.  No use wishing the time away, right?

I would've really liked to do a maternity photoshoot out in natural light.  If I can handle the heat this weekend, I may direct Scott with the camera and try to get a couple nice shots.  If E decides to wait REALLY long and still isn't here when Aunt Allie arrives, we'll definitely get some then too!  I'd love tasteful photos from the birthing, too.  It's unfortunate to be the photographer when you want to be the subject. :)

our friends took their carseat to a local fire department. they are apparently trained in properly installing carseats over there. i think our friends attempted to do it themselves, found out that you can have it "inspected" at a fire department, and tried it out. it was wrong, of course, but once it's in once, it's good to go! (the base kind anyway)

my baby "e" came at 36 weeks on the dot. i'm glad you've made it past the "on the dot" so you're cleared for a birth center birth. i am SO deliciously excited for you :)

I would love to do a pregnancy photo shoot for you! :) I know I was thinking about taking pics through my labor, which is saying something. As soon as I popped Brennan out I was taking pictures hahaha. Makes even more sense to go drug free when you want to stand up minutes after the birth ;) I see you have the nice "zipper line" now. I always wanted to unzip my stomach and get them out that way!! I hope I make it there in time!! I still have my bet on the 27th, for some reason. I just think it sounds right. I will caveat that I've never been right before though! Love you :) Can't wait to see you!!! :D

I'm so glad you understand the way the time just zips on by and are taking time to savor each day for itself. You will never walk this way again, if you know what I mean, no pun intended. LOL Just sounds funny after reading it. Anyway, you will definitely miss feeling that little life inside of you, but it is oh so much better to see the little cherub face with the drool and slobber all over it. :)
