Oregon vacation day 3: Rockaway Beach and the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad

On Monday we aimed to take it easy.  We had breakfast and lolled around the house until we were ready for lunch, then headed into Tillamook to eat and find a proper grocery store.  We had lunch (more fresh fish for me) and stocked up on breakfasts and dinners for the remainder of our stay in Rockaway Beach.

After unloading the groceries, we hopped on the next train for the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad, conveniently located right where we were staying!

The railroad trip was fun: 30 minutes to a neighboring town (Girabaldi), a 30 minute stop, and 30 minutes back.  Not quite worth the $32 price tag (at least not for any additional trips while we were there), but a beautiful sight, and we all enjoyed taking a slow ride on a train.  We made a brief stop at the beach, then headed back to the house where I cooked fresh salmon (mmm) and we enjoyed a quiet night in, playing Scrabble on the board that was provided at the house. :)

A nice man offered to take a picture of us. :)
