On Thursday we packed everything up and had breakfast at the Cow Belle Cafe in town. It was a nicer experience than most dining out experiences we’ve had lately, since they had a toy box for kids. After that we headed north toward Astoria. We noticed a billboard when we were nearly in Seaside, advertising an Aquarium! We had to stop. It was small, but Evie loved it. The seals were the main attraction; clapping, splashing, swimming right up to us. We got to feed them some fish. It was fun!
We spent about an hour there then got back on the road. Astoria was only about 20 more miles, and we’d planned to stop there for lunch and a cool playground. The playground was pretty great! Evie played for about an hour.
We had lunch at a brewery type of restaurant right on the columbia river. More fish and chips for me! This time a combo of 3 different kinds of fish. The beer was so good! I was in heaven.
Evie slept the rest of the way (about two hours) to our hotel in Centralia, Washington. Scott and I once again enjoyed the fabulous views... and the quiet! Long drives didn’t seem very long out there with so much gorgeous scenery to look at.
In Centralia, we decided to break the seafood streak for a night and got Mexican food to go that we ate at our hotel. We weren’t about to sit through another dining out experience when we were all pretty tired and hungry. The food was surprisingly delicious (well, surprising if I hadn’t looked them up on Google first and saw the rave reviews!). Scott and I watched a couple things on netflix via iPad, and we all slept like rocks that night. Evie even slept in her own bed the entire night!
